Video: See a lullaby version of Bowie's 'Space Oddity'

'Lullaby Renditions of David Bowie' is in stores now.

If there's one thing David Bowie fans know, is that his music is appropriate for all ages, from young Americans to those in their (wait for it) golden years.

A new entry in the Rockabye Baby! franchise may help create a new generation of Bowie-lovin' babies. Released this week, Lullaby Renditions of David Bowie includes mellow, instrumental takes on Heroes, Let's Dance, The Man Who Sold the World and other hits.

I've mentioned the series before, which has transformed tunes by more than 60 artists into sweet sleepy-time songs. (I own a few, including the Smiths and Depeche Mode records.) Today I'm debuting the new, kid-friendly video for Rockabye's take on Space Oddity.

Says series executive producer Lisa Roth:

You can't produce a music series like Rockabye Baby! and not pay homage to David Bowie, one of the most innovative and influential music icons out there. His contributions go far beyond the music: He's a performance artist, a poet and definitely a fashion icon. Hey, I proudly rocked the Ziggy Stardust haircut back in the day.

Rockabye Baby!: Lullaby Renditions of David Bowie is available now on CD and digitally. Learn more about the series at rockabyebabymusic.com.
